Holidays are over, back to REAL LIFE

We went to Vegas for a few days the first of December for the NFR. We decided we better go one more time before we have two kids to try to find sitters for. We had an awesome time, except I was sick most of the time with a terrible head cold. Shopping at the NFR is so much fun! Thanks to Tammie and Grandma Kathy for wrestling Ryder while we were gone!

We had a good Christmas, everyone got what they had asked for! We took Ryder on Christmas Eve to look at Christmas lights and decided that looking at Christmas lights is not the safest thing to do! About 3 miles from our house we just about ran over a herd of deer, Ryder said they were Santa's reindeer! Then on our way out Hwy 39 we almost rear ended another car that stopped suddenly on the highway - holy cow, maybe next year we will just stay at home and be safe! On Christmas Day we went to my parents for a little while to exchange gifts and then headed back home to exchange gifts with Wade's family. Santa brought Ryder a tool bench and he also got buckin' horses, buckin' bulls, a pillow pet, train set and on and on. He was so much fun to watch open and get excited about every single thing. He didn't take a nap, but he was such a good little guy all day. He went to bed about 8:45 pm and didn't get up till 10 am the next morning!

Wade started his new job and is really enjoying it. His schedule can be a little strange at times since it depends on the weather.

For New Year's Eve we went to Kevin and Julie's (some friends in Shelley) and ate and visited. We were home in bed by 10:30 pm, that's a sign that we're getting older. Ryder went with us and played with tons of other kids and had a great time.

It took several weekends to get Christmas cleaned up and put away, but it's finally done and life is back to normal.

Baby #2 is still breech, which means only one thing...... C-Section! I hate the thought of it, but as long as he/she gets here safe, sound and healthy I don't really care! In my last post I said we had just under 4 months to go till D-Day, and now much to my surprise we have just under 2 months left! Where does time go? We are really struggling with names for the new little one, absolutely no names really stand out to us! Going through all Ryder's little clothes, it would be nice to have another boy - we have so many clothes it's ridiculous, but a little girl to shop for and inherit all my stuff from when I was little would sure be fun too!

About two weeks ago Ryder and I were leaving my mom's and somehow I stepped off the back steps wrong, rolled my ankle and fell off the steps taking Ryder with me. I think he finally landed under my mom's pickup. Wow, what a day! I forgot how bad it hurt to roll my ankle, I did it several times in high school basketball, but that has been quite a while ago! The bruises and swelling are almost gone and much to my surprise Ryder wasn't hurt, just scared to death.

What a beautiful winter we are having. I am thankful for the moisture and thankful that it hasn't been super cold and lots of snow!

I want to send a shout out to Stephanie and James, they are expecting their first little one in June. They will find out what their having next week. Congrats and good luck. I can't wait to see you the first of March.

Also, Happy 1st Birthday to Hailee DeMers - I can't believe it's been a year!

And, thanks for all your thoughts for my Grandma June, she has been safely out of the hospital for a while now and seems to be doing good. We had a family Christmas Party at the Firth Grange on Christmas Eve with most of my cousins (on my mom's side), it was a blast. There were 5 grandkids and at least 13 grandkids in attendance, it was fun to see everyone. And Carmen and Nokia are wonderful and brought fun activities for the kids to do, which kept them all busy having a great time. That side of the family basically only gets together once a year, so it's fun to see everyone. Grandma seemed to enjoy the event, as long as I remembered pumpkin pie and whipped cream!

My favorite quote for the day, "Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day."

Take care, be safe and love to all!
