Good Times

Pay close attention to this photo. Our niece Carly had a birthday on the 10th, so it is their family tradition that they always have pinata's at the kids' birthdays. That is a great plan, but their older kids are born in July and August. So we had to improvise for the cold weather. Yes this is my mother's living room, Todd is standing on a ladder holding the homemade pinata with a broom handle while all 6 kids take several good swings at it. Redneck, hillbilly? Yes. Yes. It was such a good time, we were all enjoying it. Well, maybe not Grandma Kathy as she sees the broom handle flinging through her living room. Good laughs and good times.

Here's another picture to pay close attention to. The pinata finally had to be cut to get the candy to fall out (they will make them out of brown paper sacks from now on). The kids are loving gathering up the candy, but don't you think someone should implement an age limit on the candy gathering since Tiffany and Wade are slithering in to swipe some candy? Yep, I said it, you two are both too old to be wrestling over pinata candy! Such a good time!

Here is Carly and What? Tiffany again?????? Desperately trying to break the pinata.

Oh my, here is the youngest (1 year old on the 17th) grandkid of the Christiansen family. Can you believe how handsome Mr. Colt is? What a good boy, love him.

And the Birthday Girl. She had such a great time that she didn't go to bed till 10:30, she just didn't want her birthday to be over. Did I mention balloons are a popular toy at Grandma Kathy's?

I have a lot of cute photos from New Years at Pratt's Barn, but this is my favorite so I had to include it tonight. Evidentally Kinsley loves to dance. Here are Kinsley and her dad stealing the show on New Years. This is one of the cutest sights I have ever seen. What a cute couple. These are the "GOOD TIMES."

Our thoughts go out to our friend Jim H. and his family in these very difficult times. Loss of A loved one is hard enough, but the loss of two wonderful people is a tragedy. Lives taken too soon.

We are also wishing speedy recovery wishes to Grandpa Wayne after a shoulder replacement. Good luck on physical therapy and good luck to Kathy in surviving 30 days with an inpatient patient! Love ya.

I just have to vent for a couple minutes (so I am able to sleep tonight). I am really concerned about our quality of life. Things have changed so much in the last 15 years, I am really apprehensive about the next 15. I am even a little fearful for my kids and what the world may be like when they are my age. I think our society is heading in the wrong direction and if we don't start taking control there won't be a society worth taking care of. Morals have went by the wayside. Honesty is hard to find at times. Trust is a luxury.

More pictures to come hopefully this weekend.

Please take care. Love those closest to you and forget those that hurt you. Life is too short to short yourself on the quality of life. Loved ones can be gone in an instant, keep that in mind the next time you are mad or annoyed at someone.

Sayings...... I love them and believe in them

Happiness is a Choice.

You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile!

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.

Sorry about the mess, but we live here.

Yes, I did steal these from other sources! I am not very creative, so I have to rely on others to be creative for me!! Hope you all had a Happy & Safe New Year.

I'll be in touch.
