Randomness.....

Totally random picture from yesterday, but I loved the clouds, I just wish we had more snow. This was in the Howe area, what a pretty valley, just really dry.

Happy Valentine's Day, this is the best photo we could get! Either the kids were mad or fighting over which heart they got to hold!! We have to learn to choose our battles!!

So it turns out that Kinsley is quite the little dancer. This is her and Mark dancing at the New Year's dance at the Bunch Ground.

And here we are dancing with dad. They were quite the show stoppers, they were the only ones on the dance floor for the whole song, so cute, a priceless moment.

Since Kinsley likes to dance and Ryder likes to be wild, we are now taking gymnastics for Ryder and Mommy and Me dance for Kinsley and I, it was fun and we are looking forward to this week. Hey, it's a little exercise and something fun to do, you can't beat that!!!

I love this saying and I don't think it hurts to have it where everyone can see it to remind people of what we NEED to do. My good friend Megan from American Falls cut me some cute vinyl.

I have always loved this photo taken of Wade and Ryder waiting for the bucking bull machine. Such concentration in both their eyes, pretty special for Wade since he loves roughstock. Priceless.

So I don't have a great picture of Roy, the horse, lately since he's all haired up for the winter. But I had to post this picture of Kinsley and him because he was so gentle with her and kind. I have rode this horse of my mom and dad's for quite a few years, he and I have always got along and seen things the same way. Much to my absolute surprise my parents gave him to me for Christmas this year, I mean really? I have never been so shocked or speechless. I cried my eyes out, I just can't express how much a horse of my own, and especially one that I LOVE means to me. He is better than a best friend. What an amazing gift.

Valentine's 2014

So I am heading to my final LIA class in Boise next week, I am really looking forward to it, but going to miss the great friends from all over Idaho that I have made. They are such great, inspiring people.

I have lived in Idaho ALL my life, mostly Eastern Idaho. And until I started this class I had never realized the total lack of understanding of the Agricultural industry right here in Idaho. I guess I just assumed that if you live in Idaho, you know agriculture! No way, not even for a minute. And I am not bashing people that don't understand agriculture, I am simply acknowledging my complete ignorance about our great state. I have heard it said many times that "if we don't tell our own story, someone will tell it for us." That is so scary to me, because my story could be told by someone that has no idea what cow is or a bushel of grain! Talk about complete tabloid crap. We live the ag dream and we need to share the ag dream with everyone. Ag is our life blood and the life blood of the US, we need to make sure we tell the TRUE story of ag and how we are stewards of the land and caregivers to livestock. No matter how small your operation, share your experiences and educate someone that may not know where their steak or potato came from. We are so fortunate to live here and produce great quality beef, grains, potatoes, sugar, beans, wine, milk, etc, etc, etc, we need to share the fortune and educate others about the importance of what we do.

That was a little bit of a tangent, but I think this is really important. I see ag everyday from a personal and professional point of view, I feel fortunate to work and live ag and want others to know what we do.

That was a little more of the tangent, I'm done, promise.

Another reminder about donating funds or products to your local foodbank. I signed up the the automatic account withdrawal and have felt so great about doing so that I encourage everyone to join me.

Valentine's is tomorrow and even though the day makes me think of how much I love my kids, my husband and my family, I can't help think of my loved ones that have passed on and wonder how they are doing and remember just how much I miss them! So tomorrow let's remember ALL of our loved ones and have a great day.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY 2014
